Dear esteemed members,

After the pandemic, a difficult period starting with the fluctuation of rate of exchanges and high inflation rates has caused to increase more and more pressure on business life. Within that period, as being Mugla Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, we are assesing our members’ and regions’ mutual issues and are speaking with a single voice for creating solutions in cooperation and collaboration.

On the other hand, lately there has been an increasement of private sector investments and structuring initiatives in specially protected environment areas, Göcek-Dalaman bays. And this situation has reached to very ominous extent, as a highly worrisome development. We raised our voice in order to the cancellation of the tenders done by The republic of Turkey Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change in March and which has nothing to do with public welfare. Right after that, we have organized a workshop, “Fethiye Gulf, Göcek-Dalaman Bays’ Protection and Management” which Fethiye and Dalaman Municipalities, nongovernmental organizations, academicians, and the public has participated, in order to create a ‘B’ plan against the tenders of eyebolt, buoy and beach gears. Fethiye Gulf, Göcek-Dalaman Bays’ Protection and Management workshop which lasted 2 days was very fruitful. I appreciate and am very grateful for all the precious contributions of especially Mugla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Osman Gürün being in the first place, the Mayors of Fethiye and Dalaman Municipalities, and  academicians. The final report of this workshop has been preparing and it is going to be shared with relevant institutions and organizations.

Seydikemer Agro-Specialized Dairy Cattling Organized Industrial Zone is Forging Ahead

Under the leadership of our Chamber and being the first in Turkey, Seydikemer Agro-Specialized Dairy Cattling Organized Industrial Zone is Forging Ahead. The environmental impact assessment report has been completed which is an indicator of this project’s being environmentalistic. Cartulary process was completed and the exact location has been pinpointed. Under the leadership of our governor, the board of directors has been formed. It is going to be a very important milestone regarding the regions’ economy. The industrial zone not only will bring out the potential of livestock farming and make the best of it by enhancing, but also it will provide a great deal of contribution to our region employment, new investment opportunities and such. The industrial zone will be composed of integrated plant of milk and dairy cattling facilities and is going to provide 2500 number of employment at the beginning. There is going to be integrated plant of milk, feedmill, bioenergey facility. We are living the happiness and excitement of bringing in such a huge investment to our region.

We are creating solution to lack of qualified employee problem

Our members are in both operating in Fethiye or Seydikemer hare having hard time in finding qualified employee. As Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we are showing the maximum affort possible in order to meet the needs of our regions’ operational sectors regarding raising up qualified employees. We had organized Russian language course with the purpose of raising qualified employees, especially for food&beverage and accomodation sector.

On the other hand, as Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we are supporting Mustafa Kemal Tehnical Anatolian High School. Within the framework of the protocol signed between our Chamber and Mustafa Kemal Tehnical Anatolian High School, new additional branches will be opening according to the needs of the school to be met, additional buildings will be added if needed as well. We are going to ensure that workshop classes are equipped with the latest technology. We are going to bring students and sector professionals together so that we are going to make internship and employment possibilities raise. As we are providing the conditions of education, we are aiming for our members to raise qualified employees who commit and embrace their occupation. We are going to support more with the increase of the revenue that we are getting from Babadag.

Digital Tacograph process steps are now done in our Chamber

As Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we have added one more service in order to ease our members’ business life. Thanks to our initiatives, our Chamber has been authorized by TOBB as one of 159 “authorized registry agency” in order to be able to run the necessary procedure. Drivers of road transport vehicles are now be able to run digital tacograph process steps in our chamber building without being have to go to Mugla. I appreciate TOBB President Mr. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu’s all efforts in following up the process himself and bringing to a conclusion of our authorization request. I hope it will be beneficial to our Chamber members and region’s commercial vehicle drivers.
